Beware of this Scam

To all you hard working people and businesses out there I would like to warn you of a scam that is defrauding businesses out of 6 figure sums. The fraudsters are purporting to be from a well know university or hospital. They ask for a quotation for goods (pumps in our case) to be delivered to their invoice address. They then raise a purchase order which looks really professional and legitimate. Just before the goods are dispatched they ask for a change of delivery address "due to a small fire" at their main address. This address turns out to be a distribution depot where they are collected by another courier and off they go never to be seen again!! We have been told by one university that they are having 10 calls a day from defrauded victims so it is happening on a massive scale.
