You might have noticed our recent post, cautioning individuals about a recruitment scam.
However, let's delve into what this scam entails and how you can navigate it:
“Hello there, I'm Alex, a recruiter from Hexwired Recruitment. We're actively seeking remote workers. Would you be interested in learning more?”
“Hey, it's Emily from Hexwired Recruitment. Your contact info is in our database. We've got some fantastic job opportunities, including flexible roles. Can I share the details with you?”
“Greetings, I'm *Michael from Hexwired Recruitment in London, UK. We're currently in the process of recruiting for various positions. Would you like me to provide you with more information?”
Unfortunately, similar to many other recruitment agencies, the name and logo of Hexwired Recruitment are being unlawfully exploited as part of a scam. Initially, this recruitment scam started with WhatsApp messages featuring poorly written texts, promising enticing roles that seemed too good to be true. These were relatively easy to spot, and most people promptly dismissed them.
Regrettably, the scam has evolved into a more sophisticated form. The scammers are now misusing our name and logo, adopting similar email addresses, and even leveraging our website to gain credibility.
This situation is infuriating and disheartening, as we receive messages from individuals who have been targeted by these scammers. We genuinely appreciate those who have alerted us to these messages. It's disheartening to realise that the misuse of our brand is affecting the reputation we've painstakingly built through exceptional service to candidates and clients alike.
?
So, how can you identify a Recruitment Scam? Here are some pointers:
?
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE: Fraudulent offers often feature remote or hybrid roles with exceptional perks and high salaries. While appealing, these should raise suspicions.
?
LANGUAGE QUALITY: Our communications are meticulously reviewed before being sent. We take pride in our strong communication skills. Poor spelling, grammar, or incoherent messages are telltale signs of a scam.
?
MONEY REQUESTS: We never require candidates to pay any fees, and we never ask for your banking details.
?
NAMES: Our staff roster doesn't include individuals named Cherry, Vicky, Lucy, or Jennifer. You can find our team members' information on LinkedIn, along with their job titles and specialisms. If the information doesn't match, it's not us.
?
ATTACHMENTS: If you're prompted to follow a link, be cautious. Scammers might employ legitimate job postings to lure you into paying fees.

?
INSTANT OFFERS: Legitimate positions involve an interview process. If you're offered a role instantly without an interview, it's likely a scam.
?
EMAILS: What is the sender’s email address? Does this seem consistent with previous communications? The Hexwired email format is ‘[email protected]’. If you are contacted through a LinkedIn in-mail, please ensure that you review the full profile of the recruiter sending the message to check the legitimacy of the profile.
