Online platforms are increasingly being used by scammers to trick people. Here's an example:
I was running a campaign for a client on Facebook when I came across something shocking on Facebook's ads feed. There was a news site headline stating, "Neha Kakkar Arrested", with a detailed explanation claiming that she had promoted a trading app on the Kapil Sharma Show. The app supposedly uses AI for trading, doubling your money automatically.
The website appeared to be from a reputed source, which completely shocked me. However, upon closer inspection, I realized it was a replica of an authentic news site, being used to run ads. These ads target unsuspecting users, convincing them to invest money, only for the app to disappear after taking the funds.
This is a complete scam!
How can Facebook allow such ads to run on its platform? Are their policies not working? And what are our agencies and cyber cells doing about such frauds? Are they only active during elections?
This kind of scam must be stopped immediately to protect users and maintain trust in online platforms.
