I haven’t written a newsletter for quite a while.
I thought that it was time for me to start writing newsletters again, also the reason newsletters are great is that it keeps users on the platform you can also write in long form so much more detailed in-depth information about what you wish to write. Plus you gain new subscribers all the time which may not be your followers so a new audience!
My last newsletter was very much about AI and how we need to embrace it so quite a while ago. Each of my newsletters will be in a similar format, beginning intro, subheading with news, updates, latest trends and then a wrap-up at the end with a call to action. I will probably post one every few months.
Things I have learnt over the past couple of years
Writing a good hook is important in a post, use only one line at the top, it needs to grab people’s attention straight away, plus you want people to expand to see more in the post. The main body of your text is important as is the last line of your post, having a call to action will help people know why you have written the post.
Mixing up your content is important so having some kind of strategy needs to grab people’s attention to stop people from scrolling to another post. The style of posts is good to mix up, so an image, then text, just text, video which is huge right now, even a reel of some kind no longer than 60 to 1 and half minutes at the most. I tend to use CapCut quite a bit.
People do use AI for brainstorming, and there is nothing wrong with that, but you need to keep it authentic so ask ChatGpt for ideas, ask questions but always add your writing and opinions.
?Formatting is also important some people like to use Authored Up which I believe is a great way to format a post!
When adding an external link wait at least one hour before you go in and add the link or try and add it to the comments instead.
When sending out a post
When sending out a post, remember to engage in other people’s posts first – why it starts to make your audience aware that you are online. Secondly, once you post content, try to be there for the first hour of the post. Try not to post and run! Newbies often want to post and run because they are really worried that they will not gain any engagement. This is not the case; be brave and stick with the post.?

Do I think I need Premium?
No, I do not need Premium. Although it has some decent marketing features, and the new slider banner is cool, it can also be annoying to some. I do not need it right now. I am getting enough connections, engagements, and opportunities from the FREE version of LinkedIn.
?Why does the business page on LinkedIn work well?
It is best to have a business page the bigger the business you are or want to be. I work with many clients who use the business page and post regularly. Often, they do not have time to post themselves, so they want that extra spark of content, which I can give them. Being creative for someone else can be so much easier than being creative for yourself.
?Why I think updating your profile at this time of year is important
Every year I do believe your profile needs a refresh. Especially your banner, as it’s the first thing people will look at, it needs your brand colours, ways for people to see your offers, and your tagline, make it simple but creative so it stands out. Your headline is also important, give it that extra bit of sparkle who you help, niche it down, what you can do for people plus something that makes you stand out from others. You’re About section always tells a story, and reaches people’s pain points.
Why I think niching down is important ???
Right now, we give at least 90% away to potential clients of FREE information 10% is where we need to charge more for our product or service, why you ask, because that audience will be our clients and they are the ones that will keep us afloat as a business. So, finding a service or product which no one else has but is much needed is where 2025 is today, especially in this digital age where there is so much information available to users for free.
What’s new
When writing a post try writing with some kind of excitement like they are expecting something in the next post, keep them on tenterhooks it works every time.
Often LinkedIn is learning from other platforms so if you are on other platforms why not try out tactics which they use like Facebook for example writing a post and then the author shares more in the comments box, which helps readers get more interested in their post?
