Is there a better word than slow?

Is there a better word than slow?

I’ve realised that I am building a resistance to using the word slow…

And I wonder if it’s because ‘slow’ somehow conveys a sense of being suboptimal and wasteful or if it’s a category reserved for those who can afford to ‘go slow’.

Yet, when I think about time here in the valley, slow is far too small a word.

I am searching for a sense of spaciousness that comes from the rhythm of life, not the machine or the media.

It is uncluttered, meaningful and beautiful and is big enough to hold the whole, not just the part of life.

Any suggestions?

Pause. See differently. Re-story ??

I wonder if "stong" or even "intoxicating" would help Sue Heatherington. I mention these because here in the Rye Valley, we tell visitors who fall asleep unexpectedly after walking along the river that "the air is intoxicating here, especially if you are not used to it". It has connotations of a sense of peace, calm and a sedate life. We also talk about how "big" the sky is, especially as you come over the Howardian Hills looking north across Ryedale. J

How about "on its own time"? That is as fast or slow as it has to be.

Developing a slow mindset is hugely positive & is about changing lanes from the fast madness around us. 3. Slow in nature is about having respect for creative processes & should be embraced. I like slow as its about patience & calm. Good for well-being!

Dr. Carlos Saba - this post was partly inspired by my second viewing of your wonderful conversation with Jerry Colonna on the HSS Fireside Chat. With the benefit of distance, do you have any suggestions for words that are better than 'slow'? ??
