A better way to handle disbursements.

A better way to handle disbursements.

Like many of you, I was horrified to read recently that energy bills could go up to £500 a month in January for the average household. It really hit home for me.?Of course, like most people I’m affected by the cost of living crisis, but more importantly I also work exclusively with the public sector, helping bodies disburse money effectively to people in need.

News like this weeks reminds me that all the UK’s Local Authorities are facing unprecedented demand from vulnerable people for their help – and it’s going to get worse. In a double whammy, the inflation that is causing many of these problems is also impacting the finances of the public sector. New figures, based on research conducted by the County Councils Network (CCN) and the Society of County Treasurers, reveals that the estimated costs of inflation in 2022/23 for 40 of England’s largest councils has risen by 92% in just three months since they set their budgets in March 2022.

Those figures really give you pause for thought. And they make me think of how we can help. In my role at Blackhawk, I have been fortunate enough to work with numerous organisations to get desperately needed funds to vulnerable members of the public struggling to make ends meets.?I’m a real believer in what we do. That’s why I joined Blackhawk, which has over 40 years experience in providing engagement programs to aid the public sector.?During these tough times we can make a real difference in how funds are dispersed quickly, fairly and cost-effectively.?

Without making this sound like a sale pitch, our core expertise is in offering a range of payment solutions to aid families that are already facing soaring costs.

Most importantly, our solutions are cost effective for authorities to set up and free for all beneficiaries to use.?As we’re the only business of our type to have a dedicated public sector offering – and one of only two with a free food voucher solution, I’ve seen that this really does make a difference. When every penny counts, every penny saved can be allocated to someone who really needs it.

That’s the simple reality. No hidden charges, more efficiency, better tracking. And it really counts. So, I’ll finish by saying that as the implications of the cost of living crisis continue to grow, we are genuinely here to help in the challenging times ahead. If that means just a chat about our experience of how disbursements can work, that’s a great place to start.
