I've shared a few tips now about how to give constructive feedback, but as leaders and managers, we can't forget to give positive feedback, too.
And positive feedback means more than saying, "Good job."
?? Tip of the Day
Similar to how you ask for feedback, be detailed when you share positive feedback so your teammate knows what to keep doing.
? Great job in that presentation today!
?? Great job in that presentation today! You framed the problem clearly and I appreciated you outlining what you were going to discuss so we knew what to expect and how long you would be speaking before we dove into the next section.
? You did a good job leading that meeting.
?? I appreciated you adding the agenda to keep the meeting focused, and how you made sure everyone was set up with the right tools ahead of time so we could make the most of our brainstorming session.
Remember: Giving positive feedback is just as important in helping others develop and grow as constructive feedback is. You also get the added benefit of giving your teammates a morale boost and showing your appreciation for them — two things that are particularly important in a remote office.
