Better together with #NX and #SolidEdge
When it comes to CAD software, many of us have a favorite application. Whether it be Solid Edge, Solid Works, Inventor, NX, AutoCAD, Fusion360 or any other of the many offerings on the market, they in some way get the job done for you. Once you or an employee reaches a certain level of competence in a software package, it is hard to move to something new. This is especially true in small and medium businesses. I've personally seen scenarios where engineering managers allow employees to continue using their favorite software, whether it is the same as everyone else or not, simply for the purpose of keeping employees happy and productive. While I have empathy for this scenario, I am eager to share a new path forward for small and medium businesses that will unlock data silos and enable your company to establish a software solution foundation that will enable your business room to grow while meeting the needs of your employees at the same time.?
#Siemens Mechanical Design (SMD) is a software solution that pairs NX and Solid Edge together while giving you room to grow through value-based licensing. This means that as your business grows, you can keep some employees on Solid Edge where they might feel most comfortable, and you can upgrade some employees to NX. On top of these applications, you can enable additional components like electrical design, simulation, and manufacturing - which includes our CAM, additive, fixture design, quality planning and more -- as you need them. You don't have to adopt all these components at one time, they are there, ready for deployment, as your business needs to evolve.?
The benefits of SMD delivered as a value-based token package are far-reaching. Integrated into this solution is Teamcenter, our PLM software that enables smart collaboration between everyone in your company and manages input from outside vendors. You can put the days of tracking changes in folders with cryptic file names behind you with this SMD.?
I want to share a few additional items with you that may accelerate your journey as you explore all that SMD offers.?
