Better Together
We all love the legend of the exploits of the lone genius. Whether it’s the visionary, like Steve Jobs, or a virtuoso in the mold of Michael Jordan who alter what we laypeople think is possible.
These prodigious individuals have done amazing things and inspire future generations, to be sure. At the same time, we tend to romanticize the individual, elevating them to divine status.
But to use a cliche, the truth is more complicated.
Take Shakespeare, who most scholars consider the greatest English language writer who ever lived. Did you know that the Bard, a genius without question, was also a well-known collaborator? In fact, scholars believe that some of his best-known plays, such as All’s Well That Ends Well, Measure for Measure, Two Noble Kinsmen, and Macbeth, were written with partners.

I point this out to show that collaboration and partnership are part and parcel of success. Steve Jobs needed Jony Ive, Michael Jordan needed Scottie Pippen, and Shakespeare needed Thomas Middleton. But this isn’t just the case on an individual level. The same value from working with others exists on an organizational level.
Since initially joining 印孚瑟斯 as an intern in the summer of 2021, I have been amazed at our approach to partnering. Our collaborative model, in my opinion, is one of our key and underappreciated differentiators. Sure, we bring robust resources, technical capabilities, and a cross-industry expertise to our clients, but we also have developed a rich network of partners that acts as a force multiplier. This network runs the gamut of technology capabilities, from hyperscalers to startups with vertical focuses.
The result of partnership and collaboration, whether among individuals or organizations, is a tempest of creativity and innovation. By combining disparate perspectives, experiences, and competencies, you create a multiplicative recipe for value creation. Time and time again, history shows us that transformative technologies arise on the edges where unique individuals and organizations meet and co-create. We’ve taken this lesson to heart at Infosys and use it to power our innovation engine. It’s indeed truthful to say that we’re all better when we work together.
