Better Hiring Solutions
VOLUME TEN
If you've got an important job open in your company for too long, reach out for a free hour of help with better hiring solutions to fix the funk.
Here are four potential reasons you're not filling jobs fast enough:
1. Heavy Vetting
If you're trusting your hiring team to deliver the highest quality candidates, you should insist people are more fully vetted before being presented for a first interview. Better hiring depends on the best upfront vetting. I'll share how our headhunting team does this when we tawk.
2. Less is Best
If you're the ultimate decision maker, you shouldn't need to interview much more than five of the best potential candidates for any key role. Your hiring team should do all the heavy lifting upfront from a deep and diverse pool. If you're being inundated by an endless flow of resumes without your team narrowing the list in advance, let's tawk.
3. Fearless Homework
I cannot tell a lie. There were times in my career when I dreaded the ask for a written homework assignment as a candidate. As a headhunter, I encourage all our company clients to give finalists a challenging task to help pick the winner.
Our team encourages candidates to fearlessly deliver. If I trust the hiring manager is serious about offering the job, I trust our finalists to not hold back, and to earn the job by showing how they really think.
4. Salary Transparency
More states are passing new laws to have us all disclose the base salary range of any posted open role. These new regulations are extremely beneficial on both sides of the hiring equation.
Life is too short to waste time guessing whether you're talking to someone who's not going to fit your budget. We've done away with the old rule that says, "don't talk money." Let's tawk.
Free Test Drive
I've been hiring the best executive talent to lead any department since my first media job in 1980, and for the past five years as a headhunter.
