BetBlocker launches German Language Service

BetBlocker is proud to announce the launch of our German language service. In partnership with StarGames.de, the full package of BetBlocker tools is now available to German language users.

BetBlocker is a charity that provides free blocking software to help users manage or restrict their access to online gambling operators. The app allows users to set restrictions of between 24 hours and 5 years, blocking over 15k gambling operator sites and is available on Windows, Android, iOS, Apple Mac, Linux and Fire OS.

The app also offers a Calendaring service – this allows users to schedule when the app will activate and disarm. This feature allows users to plan ahead, ensuring that the restriction will be on during times that they may be vulnerable to over engagement with gambling services, encouraging responsible management of their gambling.

The collaboration between StarGames.de and BetBlocker has allowed the charity to translate their entire website and app, making the service far more accessible to German speakers. With the changes occurring in German regulation, this project could not be timelier to deliver additional protections to German players. StarGames.de is also supporting the charity to deliver native language German technical support, where any users experience difficulties with the service.

BetBlocker naturally compliments national self-exclusion schemes like the German OASIS, strengthening the protections that these schemes offer. Where the national self-exclusion scheme focuses on ensuring that licensed operators do not accept play from excluded players, BetBlocker provides the player a tool to ensure that they can also restrict themselves from being able to access unlicensed (illegal) operators as well. By engaging with both a national self-exclusion scheme and blocking software the protections that vulnerable players receive is significantly improved.
