I attended the Jones Beach Cleanup on September 26th. I was so happy to be able to help improve the quality of the beach by picking up any trash that was around. This experience wasn’t only to help clean the beach but it also served as research, in which we had to tally up the different kinds of trash found on the beach. I believe it is important to keep our waterways clean in order to improve our lives as well as the habitat for animals that reside in the area. It is important to take part in community events like this to help improve the communities we live in. This experience taught me that you can have fun and enjoy a beautiful day on the beach while also being able to help improve the environment.
