Beta Alpha Psi Gives Back - Jennifer Chen

A volunteer experience that I did this semester was run errands for those who were immunocompromised or had Covid-19. I originally started only getting groceries for my elderly relatives and dropping them off at their house. Many of my elderly relatives were immunocompromised as well and in order to not jeopardize their health, my parents and I would get groceries for them when we went on our own weekly grocery trip. Recently my friends and their families were quarantined due to Covid-19 and since everyone in their house was quarantined, they were unable to get groceries and other necessities. We all live relatively close to each other so I volunteered to pick up their groceries and drive around to drop them off. When my family was quarantined with Covid-19, my friends had done the same for me so that my family didn’t have to stress about running out of necessities. During this pandemic, we want to be able to be a support system for each other and help each other out in whatever ways possible.
