Beta Alpha Psi Gives Back - Daniel Cavallo

I have been a volunteer firefighter in Live Oaks Engine Co. No. 1 of the Rockville Centre Fire Department for 3 years. During my time as a volunteer firefighter, I have spent innumerable hours training for all different scenarios in order to make sure that we are prepared for any situation that may occur. Being a volunteer firefighter has been an amazing experience due to the fact that we give back to the community in so many different ways other than responding to fire alarms and car accidents. This past December, my company participated in our annual Santa Run. Given the circumstances due to the ongoing pandemic, the Santa Run was much different, but well worth it. When the families and children in my town saw Santa it definitely brought them some much needed holiday spirit. This volunteer experience and my overall experience as a volunteer firefighter has been extremely rewarding. I am very grateful to be able to give back to my community, especially when the past year has been so challenging for so many of us.
