Beta Alpha Psi Gives Back
Beta Alpha Psi - Delta Pi Chapter
International Accounting Honor Society at Hofstra University
As a member of the Hofstra Community, I was very excited to take part and give back to Long Island by participating in the Jones Beach clean-up. As a volunteer at Jones Beach, I was tasked with picking up trash such as plastic bottles, food wrappers, straw, and several beverage cans. This volunteer work helps to keep the beach clean and helps preserve the beach and its ecology, by separating recyclables from non-recyclables. One of my fondest memories from this experience stems from knowing that I wasn’t doing this alone and that I was able to work alongside my fellow peers from Hofstra University.
This event was important to me because it provided an opportunity for me to not only give back to my community but also to help out our environment as well. As a result of my community service, I learned how important it is to preserve the beach and make it beautiful not only for those who enjoy it but also for generations to come.
To conclude, volunteering at Jones Beach has been a great experience. I became more aware of my own surroundings and the importance of keeping a beach clean. It is very important for me to serve the purpose of ensuring that we leave our families, our communities, and our world better than when we started. I am delighted that I was able to partake in this purposeful event to not only keep Jones Beach clean but to make our community and environment a healthy and better place.
