THE BESTIES FOR LIFE

Some people are like vibrant colours, attractive, friendly in their outlook and very helpful. I just have a friend of mine, who was just a friend to start with, who now has become my beastie of life. He was my colleague not for a long time to develop a strong bond as such, but the demeanor, the outlook of his towards life made him one of my assets. I seldom knew him initially or gradually. Eventually, though I had nothing to prove or show, he with his extraordinary character and personality, proved helpful in my venture.

My life was no less than an adventure.. I had left my wife and son in her home town. As I was pursuing my doctorate degree, I was in short of time and in a hurry to complete it, I left my good salaried job, and was away from my house and my family for a long time. When it's your family, even a year seems to be a decade. I was jobless, penniless. Those were the days, when I used to eat frugally to save money and to avoid excessive expenses, I used to skip food or used to walk miles together instead of fetching an auto.

My friend was my colleague in college where I worked last before leaving my job. He didn't forget me, he just was in touch almost every day and when he noticed that I was leading a beggar's life, he didn't hesitate to show up his humanity and came up with food, breakfast and invited me to his house for a dinner.

I have been friendly and helpful to him but I am not at all equal or can surpass him in his friendship or humanity. He being my sole friend in this bad time, has always stood up like a beacon, very confident, very consoling and dynamic and like a guiding master, has helped me in every walk of my life.

He has not just helped me financially, but has supported me emotionally when my emotions and courage were draining. I was aloof, he made me stand amid the crowd proudly, empowered my intellectual and I became confident leaving behind my clumsiness, my ignorance and stupidity.

He is like a back bone without whose support, I might have been collapsed and had vanished in the air.

He is a steadfast friend of life, for life. Unaware of his prestigious quality, he just continues to help me till date and I like a dutiful son has been obeying his friendship without any negligence.

I am proud to have such a great entity as my friend. I will be always looking forward to hear from him, to be with him and also to serve him whenever I get a chance.
