I am so fortunate in my line of work that I get to travel through many commonwealth territories to help with legislative and policy matters. A most rewarding part of my work is the people I get to meet and most times develop amazing friendships - The Bahamas was no exception. I love the spirit and pride of country I see in Bahamians. My heart is now with the people of the Bahamas particularly on Abaco and Freeport – we cannot believe the devastation caused by this recent hurricane! But there is one thing I recognize - the strong will of the people and this you shall overcome. Our prayers continue to be with you, and I urge everyone to contribute as they can to the dire need of the Bahamian islands now and as they continue to recover. One Love!
