Best Windows Alternative Laptops to this MacBook Pro

I struggled for a long to about what computer to buy instead of the MacBook Pro, but now that I have taken the time to invest in the research I have found the best competitors and alternative laptops to buy instead of the MacBook Pro. Here are a few questions I have seen concerning this topic:

  • What is the best alternative to the MacBook Pro?
  • What should I buy instead of the MacBook Pro?
  • What is the best competitor for the MacBook Pro?
  • Best laptop other than the MacBook Pro?
  • What laptop is similar to the MacBook Pro?

Macbook Pro 15 (For the Apple Gurus)

The MacBook Pro has received an internal boost this year! Up until recently, I did not speak very highly of the MacBook Pro due to its outdated Processor, RAM Memory, and Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). However this year Mac decided to play catch up and release this version of the MacBook Pro. Now coming with a Powerful i9 Processor, Upgraded 32GB of RAM (Which is still soldered to the motherboard), and the Radeon Pro 560X. A worthy option if you are in the market for a new laptop, but honestly, it comes at an outrageous price… Click to View Current Price of the MacBook Pro

  • 2.9GHz 6-core 8th-generation Intel Core i9 Coffee Lake processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.8GHz
  • 512GB PCIe Flash Storage
  • 32GB 2400 MHz memory
  • Radeon Pro 560X with 4GB Memory
  • Four Thunderbolt 3 ports

The reason the Windows laptops listed below are such a viable option comes in a few categories. (1. Quality, (2. Performance, (3. Usability, (4. Cost. Each of these aspects adds up to the relevant need for an alternative to the MacBook Pro. I will briefly cover these three categories and then jump into my recommendations.

1 Quality:

The Quality of the MacBook Pro has been unrivaled for years. Sleek styling, aluminum build quality, and longevity were the boastings of the MacBook Pro. That was until Windows alternatives like the Dell XPS 15, VivoBook Pro, and Gigabyte Aero15X came onto the market. Toting aluminum builds and longevity surpassing their predecessors we now have a handful of worthy competitors to the MacBook Pro.

2 Performance:

Most Windows users will argue that Windows has always been more powerful machines and that Macs just positioned themselves as the go-to for professional level creative and business work. I disagree. Mac had a solid run at the professional and creative industry for a solid 10 years from 2005 until 2015 where they released a lot of great laptops that fit the needs of their audience. We, however, saw a slump in the following three years making nearly zero changes to the performance of their machines until now. This is where Windows has constantly had its grip on the market producing better iterations of their products year after year. Windows is less concerned with having the image of a high performing laptop and is concerned with being a high performing laptop.

3. Usability:

Let me just say one word to kick this category off, DONGLE. If you own or you are looking to purchase a MacBook Pro I am sure you have already looked into what dongle you should buy. My question to you is, “Why should you HAVE to buy a dongle?” In my opinion, you should not have to buy numerous accessories to make your laptop suitable for your day to day workflow. Your laptop should be tuned to fit your needs, you should not have to buy extra products to fit your laptops needs. Usability is a crucial factor when I go to purchase a new machine. Weight, ports, durability, etc… all play into my decision. This is another key factor to my switch from Mac to Windows.

4. Cost:

This is one category that usually gets peoples attention. They are often amazed when I walk them through the comparable difference between what you get for the cost of a MacBook Pro. It’s not that Windows buyers are cheap, but they are my frugal and thoughtful with how they spend their money. They have done more research and they are usually far more informed on their purchase. When I bought my first MacBook in 2004 I had no idea what I was buying. I did not look at the specs, ports, or durability. I just knew that Apple/Mac said they were the best, social proof agreed, and so I made the purchase. Today I have spent a great deal of time on my blog and on my YouTube Channel informing people about the options they have and what a laptop with great performance looks like in today’s market.
