BE THE BEST OF WHAT YOU ARE: GOVERNOR UMAHI SETS THE PACE.

Governor David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE, a scion of the great Umahi Dynasty of Umunaga in Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi State, came onboard and changed the paradigm, altered the equation and quickened the pace of activities in the march of progress to the future of Ebonyi State. His emergence as the 3rd executive Governor of Ebonyi State brought a quantum leap to all the sectors of Ebonyi state to wit: Infrastructure, Education, Health, Agriculture etc.

He came onboard and eradicated the forces of institutional inertia that has been a cog in the wheel of the smooth functioning of Ebonyi.

Apart from his unrelenting drive in expanding the frontiers of economic status of Ebonyi state, Governor Umahi has adopted road Construction as a nametag, a habit that has changed the face of Ebonyi State in the committee of states in Nigeria. Gone are those hay days when Ebonyi was regarded as UNDER-DEVELOPED!

Can we still remember: NEW MARKET ROAD, GUNNING ROAD,NKALIKI ROAD,FUNAI ROAD, SPERA-IN-DEO, PRESCO JUNCTION, GOVERNMENT HOUSE GATE, UDENSI ROUND ABOUT ,EBONYI DARKNESS, ABAKALIKI TOWNSHIP STADIUM of the old.

Nkaliki road, Gunning road and New market road are the major thoroughfares in the Abakaliki Capital city. Gunning and New market road was impassable and impenetrable for pedestrians, vehicles and other road users alike. Umahi within fews weeks of his assumption into office reconstructed these roads that has attracted shame and scorn to Ebonyi due to its demeaning, deplorable and shambolic state.

Governor Umahi installed streetlight in all the roads and Streets of Abakaliki. This was borne out of his desire in maintaining the security of Ebonyi State. He, out of his foresightedness discovered that it is only in darkness that the criminal proclivities of the men of the under-world moves to the high-heavens. The installation of streetlights in Azugwu( a nest of sin) has reduced the reportedly case of Armed Robbery, drug running, Kidnapping etc in that Zone, reason being that husky outlaws don't operate in the light, littlewonder the bible admonished in the book of Corinthians that there is no close-link between the light and darkness.

Strikingly, a stranger who travelled out of Ebonyi state before 29th May 2015 can never believe the new look and international status of the Abakaliki Township Stadium. Umahi as a man of his words has kept faith with his manifestos and campaign promises unlike other Nigerian Governors. It is not surprising that he emerged the best Governor in Nigeria. The Zik's award that was given to Governor Umahi by His Excellency Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo GCON is a perfect one to whom the cap surely fits: Governor Umahi.

The litany of his developmental strides has remained a LITANY on the lips of dazed Ebonyians and strangers alike.

The composition of his executive Council members is second to none. Imagine the likes of Senator Emmanuel Onwe ph.D as the honourable Commissioner for Information and state Orientation who has proven to be a study in hardworking and dedication to his duty, Engr Fidelis king Nweze MNSE etc

He pays workers Salary and on time, reduced EBSU school Fees, and empowered the Youth and widows.

He is married, hardworking and God-fearing: These and more it does appear will make him a recurring decimal in our political landscape.
