The Best Way to Start Your Week

The Best Way to Start Your Week

Have you ever experienced the Sunday Night Scaries?

You know that feeling on Sunday Night when you just don't want to go back to work tomorrow. Maybe it's because you didn't get everything done on your to-do list or because the first meeting on Monday sounds like it's a "it could have been an email" type of meeting.

I know that feeling. The scaries would set in for me when I would sneak a peek at my work inbox or glance at my calendar to see what's on the schedule next week.

You start to feel behind and the week hasn't even begun. Then you realize on Wednesday you will be in back to back meetings and you aren't sure when you are going to be able to eat let alone go pee.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

I found even in my craziest of times the best way to bet the Sunday Night Scaries is to intentionally put something to look forward to on your calendar EACH WEEK!

That could be... a mani/pedi ?? over a lunch break, coffee ?? with a friend, a work time block for a project you are excited ?? about but can't seem to get started, etc. Something just for you!

Then I want you to to label it with an important name like Project X Brainstorming Time Block. That way if someone else tries to hop on your calendar you could say "Sorry, I have a brainstorming session at that time. Is there another time that may work for you?"

As busy working moms we often push ourselves to the bottom of the list.

It's easy to schedule over our hair appointments or cancel a brunch date because a kid is sick or work is stressful and you want to catch up.

BUT I PROMISE YOU keeping that date with yourself is the best thing you can do!

It gives you something to look forward to each week. It serves as a reminder that YOU are also a priority. And it gives you one thing on your calendar that can help counter act those Sunday night scaries.

Want to start next week off with a bang? Right now I want you to hop onto your calendar and carve out 30-1hour on your calendar just for you.

BOOK IT, PROTECT IT, DO IT, THEN RESCHEDULE WITH YOURSELF!

What are you booking for yourself next week? Comment below.
