Is This The Best Way to Sell Without Selling?
As a coach or consultant, you probably already know the importance of “story-selling”.
Your story is what sets you apart from all your competitors.
Your story is the thing that is going to build trust and rapport with your audience.
And you guessed it… your story is going to increase conversions.
So if you don’t have a story yet… I strongly suggest you start crafting one.
Here are a few tips when it comes to sharing your authentic story:
1. The Ugly & The Beautiful
It’s not about being some god-like figure that can do no wrong. This is your chance to show your audience your vulnerability and show them that you understand the position that they’re in because you’ve been there before.
2. Keep it Simple
Don’t beat around the bush with a never ending story - keep it concise. There are only 3 things that you need to share with your audience - Your struggles, your solution and your success.
3. Your Story Shapes Your Reason of Existence
When you’re sharing your story and you make the transition to “why you do what you do” (aka your service/product) - use a story to introduce your product instead of awkwardly transitioning to talking about your product/service.
4. Use Photos
If you have photos to support your story - use them. Even if they don’t look appealing. Show them what you went through to get to where you are today. This will make your audience feel closer to you - almost as if they know you personally.
(I know most people probably don’t have a habit of taking photos of everything that happens to them but make it a point starting from now on to take photos of every little win or defeat so that you can turn that into a story)
5. Connect With Your Customer
The goal of sharing your story is not just for the sake of telling a story. The goal in sharing your stories is so that when your audience buys from you, they buy a part of your story. Be genuine - if you don’t believe in your story, they’re not going to either.
Once you have the basic foundation and structure of your life story - you can further fine-tune and refine it.
