Life is a challenge from which there is no escape, at least, so easily. Our life is dependent upon others and what they may choose to do. In such a life situation, one does not use one's wits to find solutions or ways out, like going around the problem by creating another scenario and acting on it or asking the question differently and discovering another answer. Rather, when one plods from day to day activity and continues to do the same things over one simply walks through one's life, accepting it just as it is and without realising it too.
It's not so much that how much we must endure and accept a situation as a final result. It means that in order to get some sort of healing process for a situation, to get "out," we must embrace and go through our ordeal wholeheartedly, with inquiry and desire for self-awareness.
Like when we fantasise about something we are passionate about, when we bemoan every moment of our lives, then we have surrendered our ability that our response and ability to change things for the better. Some believe that better days are ahead for his life. If we would believe it too, we would be more able to accept our life as it is in the moment. Then, we would be more open to the myriad inspirations that are waiting for permission to let them in, to allow for healing and great change to our lives in general.
When we are stuck in an identity crisis based on fears of mental illness and fears of the repercussions of mental illness - we get stuck in a cage just as someone had been before. We talk incessantly of our own struggles but no one prefers listening to us even let alone listening for a helpful response. And isn't it interesting that we are called by names, there I believe this is how one feels about oneself going through, a title that she proudly carry as a banner of martyrdom, just as here it does the spectre of so called "mental illness".
When you are in any kind of a jam or situation in life, the best way to get out of it is by going through it until you reach the other side of it like passing through the dark tunnel till it gets over at the end and shows some light. It has to do with the notion that we learn from the hard things we get through in life, not from the times when everything is smooth sailing.
The Only Way Out refers to the necessity to stop running here, there, and everywhere to find the truth. Her constant running, whether it is to find something, or to run away from something, keeps us disconnected from the true source of wisdom, which resides in the inner temple of her heart. It means that to get some sort of healing for a situation, to get “out,” she must embrace and go through our ordeal wholeheartedly, with inquiry and desire for self-awareness.
Servant of Servants by Robert Frost is a poem published in 1915 but is still very valid. This poem tells the tale of a woman who tells of her daily ordeals to a visitor who is camping out near her house. She spends her day cooking and cleaning after the many men in her house and is tired from the work. She is delighted at the opportunity to meet another individual, especially a person who can drop everything and come live in the lap of nature. She talks of her fleeting desire to do the same.
She talks of her mental illness, how she was admitted to the asylum and how she wants rest, not medicine to become better. She also talks of how mental illness runs in her family as she describes her brother’s condition as she was growing up. She also talks of the pressure on her everyday as she has to cook for and clean after the various men who work with her husband. Finally, the call of her work is too strong for her and she ends the conversation telling the visitor that she wished that he would not leave unless he had to. She longs to go off and live the life of the stranger, living among nature, but doesn’t. The poet brings out her desire to indulge in escapist fantasies. This is beautiful poem and we find such deep meaning of a mentally ill woman longing for her freedom. Stay blessed. #kishoreshintre

4 年We are all stuck in this so called "norms" that we have created for ourselves. The real freedom lies in escaping your own mind and letting it go wander amongst the rivers and mountains to its fullest. You owe it to yourself to let your soul live freely in truest sense. ??
