Being a dog photographer is our passion and is simply the best job. We also love eating great food, and it's even better when we can combine our Dog Photography with great pubs and restaurants in Windsor and Ascot, Berkshire. For many of our clients taking a complete Pet Photography Experience, they want to make their time even more fulfilling and finish with a meal. If we have time, we have even been known to join them at one of our local dog friendly pubs or restaurants.
ASCOT
The Royal Foresters, Ascot?
This was a meeting place for over 140 years and the historic building has been refurbished, remade and redesigned. With log fires and Mediterranean-inspired food, as well as cask ales and wood fired pizzas.?
The fully restored original bar with two period fireplaces, and the landscaped terrace and beer garden are available for all Dog Lovers with their dogs!?
The restaurant and the menu is extensive, covering meat, fish and pasta favourites, and a great range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, along with daily seasonal specials. Dogs are welcome in the gardens and bar areas where they still serve the full menu. They cannot accommodate dogs in the restaurant area, but that is never an issue. They go over and above for taking care of dogs with plenty of water bowls available! The staff seem to all be Dog Lovers too! If booking online, you can add a note in the special request box letting them know that you require a dog friendly table - they then take care of the rest. Plenty of parking onsite. This is one of our favourites, and booking is highly recommended.?

The Thatched Tavern, Ascot?
Another Ascot favourite of ours, this is a dog friendly pub with spaces indoor and outside, specifically for "dining with your dog". This is a friendly 400 year old beamed tavern with a cosy bar and glowing fires. The menus are great here, with good "old fashioned" indulgence and classic English fayre with daily fish specials too.
There are many royal connections to this tavern. It is said that Queen Victoria's?Royal Carriage was sometimes seen outside, while John Brown was fortifying himself before his onward journey to Windsor Castle.?
If you have parked in Watersplash Lane for the Windsor Park, this is a comfortable walk from there. Parking onsite is very limited.?

Located in Woodside and known locally as The Duke, this is based just off the main road to Ascot from Windsor Great Park. They offer a wide variety of food from the Bar Menu as?well as an extensive A La Carte Menu as well. There are always some Chef's specials available daily too. Traditional Sunday Roasts are always popular and booking is recommended.?
The pub is over 200 years old with low beams and a very cosy atmosphere. There are two TVs in the lounge area which show the football or other sports events. The owner is a massive Chelsea fan, and I've enjoyed a few fun nights when past players stop by.?
The spacious beer garden boasts an avery too. As well as the garden, dogs are allowed in the bar area providing they are on a lead.

Dog and Partridge, Sunninghill
The clue is in the name, and of course, the Dog and Partridge has to be dog friendly (can't really comment on the partridge friendly aspect though). In the residential area of Sunninghill, there is a brilliant garden as well as ample seating inside. The menu is varied ranging from traditional English dishes to European tastes. The added bonus as made clear on their website is that your four-legged friends are welcome.?

WINDSOR & ETON
The Two Brewers, Windsor?
Dating back to the early 1700s, this is the closest pub to the Long Walk and a great place for all dog lovers. It is right next to Cambridge Gate and the private south entrance of Windsor Castle from the Long Walk. The pub only is one of the smallest in Windsor and only has nine tables inside, and wooden benches outside, and so booking is essential!?

They serve good English Beer, fine wines from the Old World Only and freshly prepared seasonal food from local suppliers. As the pub is very small, it does not permit children inside - but dogs on leads are welcome.?

SURROUNDING AREA
The Fox and Hounds, Englefield Green
Whilst technically in Englefield Green, Egham, this pub is on Bishopsgate Road and the entrance to Windsor Great Park, the entrance opposite the Royal Lodge. The majority of their meat comes from the local butcher and their neighbours at The Crown Estate in Windsor Great Park, and their fish mostly comes from the Cornish Coast.?
This is an award winning pub, and whilst the menu epitomises sterling pub grub, the food is fair from standard fare. There is a great front garden area which serves BBQs in the summer months too. They do not take reservations for this space, but tables inside the restaurant are available for booking.?
Very dog-friendly, great location, right next to Windsor Great Park. Some parking on the street and parking also available onsite.?

There is a peaceful beer garden,?and whether inside or out, the food is created from locally sourced ingredients where possible and always British when best. They have a large range of drinks including some of the UK's finest ales, expertly selected wines, boutique spirits, popular lagers and plenty of soft drinks too.?
