I had a very interesting conversation with my friend which sparked the topic of this article. Due to the current ongoing crisis, my friend unfortunately lost her job. Before connecting with her, I was thinking about what will I talk and how will I make her feel better. To my surprise, when we started talking, she said "I am very excited Abhijit, because this is the best time for me to restart- look for a new job, new people, new environment and new learning, and after working for 4 years it was time for a change!"
Negative thinking creates negative results. Positive thinking creates positive results. Period.
The only difference between an opportunity and an obstacle is attitude. Getting a second chance in life is about giving yourself the opportunity to grow beyond your past failures. It’s about positively adjusting your attitude toward future possibilities.
Everything is a life lesson. Everyone you meet, everything you encounter, etc. They’re all part of the learning experience we call ‘life.’ Never forget to acknowledge the lesson, especially when things don’t go your way. If you don’t get a job you wanted or you lose your job or a relationship doesn’t work, it only means something better is out there waiting. And the lesson you just learned is the first step towards it. Some forces are out of your control. Wasting your time, talent and emotional energy on things that are beyond your control is a recipe for frustration, misery and stagnation. Invest your energy in the things you can change.
No more excuses—let’s start over. Carefully, you stare at how beautiful this space we coexist in is. It’s time for a new beginning, one in which you’re allowed to ask questions as long as you don’t hurry in finding their answers. One in which there is no doubt to the love you give and share, it’s up to you. There is no right or wrong question here. This is a safe space, and your thoughts are widely valid.
Where you might think this is the end, it is only a new chapter from a book of endless pages. Don’t be scared. Our journey may be endlessly written, but the stories in it will end at one point or another. Don’t be scared to close that chapter.
Remember, you can’t accomplish anything if you’re trying to accomplish everything. Concentrate on the essential. Get rid of the rest.
Are you ready for post-covid beginning?

Another thing that I’ve seen in talking to job seekers I’m working with is that employers need to be more understanding of career pivots. The pandemic has been a time of reflection for a lot of candidates and they want to change industries or functions as a result.

4 年Abhijit Joshi, There are times when the universe knows best. We need to reevaluate life and our existence at every opportunity. And listen to our soul in stillness. Then walk the path. Usually the dots connect as we progress forward. Always does I found.

4 年Well done. What I’ve applied to my life is not worrying so much about negative thinking. We all have negative thoughts AND many people still accomplish great things despite them. Sometimes negative thoughts can drive us forward. However, it’s negative beliefs that affect us negatively. We can have negative thoughts, but after they run their course, do we really believe them? I don’t try to chase away my negative thoughts or avoid them I just check them at times to see if I believe them. If I don’t then I ignore them. But if I do believe them, it’s an underlying belief that needs some work. Thought provoking post!
