In one of the posts, a few days ago, @JasonVana got us thinking with a question – ‘Where do I start in creating my brand?’ Jason went on to say that most people want to jump right into the designing part of building a brand and laid a proper emphasis on ‘Creating a Brand.’ There were many insights into the discussions and pretty much learning. I too had added my two pence there. ??
As a sequel to my comments, where I mentioned, in the instant gratification world, people create brands a La Carte without much thought to brand value, here’s a little piece on why should you conduct a Brand Audit.
Brands are like living individuals who have life cycles just as we do. They start with much excitement, make promises to their customers, grow, and then come to a phase where they plateau. It is at this stage of maturing that they turn into global aspirational brands that are here to stay forever or potentially start to lose relevance as customers move on to the next hot thing. And that is precisely where the Brand Audit plays a role.
At times, you have to take a step back to look at the overall bigger picture? A brand audit is equivalent to that looking glass. It is a practical evaluation of your brand to identify and address its challenges with results and find better strategies to grow.

Almost every organization conducts annual audits on its finances, employee performance, technical performance – some mandated by law and some by design.

No better time to do a brand audit... NOW... specially when many business models are pivoting and .... restaurants becoming grocery stores..... how frequently an audit is required depends on the industry one is in....
