The Best Thing to Do on October 7th

The seventh of October is approaching us, and of course there will be all kinds of private and public commemorations and ceremonies. There will also be a lot of commentary about who is to blame and all the usual things some people do to take advantage of this day where everyone will be hurting.

What's most important for the participants is to have an opportunity to add something from themselves - which is why I'm always suggesting discussion circles or workshops where everyone can contribute as equals.

From my perspective, the formula is very simple. There are two parts to this equation - the army and the people. Also the political level which we will not talk about because we are unable to agree on it at the moment

Our holy army is still doing what's it's been assigned to carry out with 1000% dedication and self-sacrifice. There are hundreds of stories of people jumping to their deaths to save the lives of their friends - which is in complete contrast to what is happening inside the nation.

We the people are far from getting close to providing the level of support our soldiers deserve, and they deserve so much. They deserve to have their families looked after, and receive all the money and benefits they have coming to them without having to go through complicated bureaucratic hoops for weeks to get them. We're a year into this thing now and the most advanced tech country in the world - so there's no excuses. They deserve to be able to go into battle day after day for us knowing their families are okay now, and will be okay no matter what.

But what I really want to talk about is how from the beginning of the war until now, our fighters have only asked one thing from us at the home front - to stay united. They said very clearly and repeatedly, "We need your strength so that we will have strength."

Talk about unity and pulling together is the exact opposite of what the media wants us to see. Their trend is to show as much chaos, controversy and destruction as possible. We all know now that it's bought and paid for.

So how can we work against these negative forces that have tons of power and resources, who want us to believe we're losing the war, our government sucks and that we're a terrible country with no morals?

This is what I suggest doing on October 7th for anyone who sees themselves as a citizen of the State of Israel -

We will think about it - we will talk about it - and we will deal with it in actions.

Think and talk about what? About our unity in Israel, and strengthening the mutual support between us.

This is the only way to express and strengthen our national resilience from the physical and earthly level, as well as mentally - at all levels of human stature.

I personally feel obliged to the soldiers and their request, because it's also very close to my heart. I've been promoting the issue of unity in Israel to get this topic onto center stage for the Land of Israel and the people of Israel.

You don't need to run in the streets and shout. Everyone can use their own framework to advance these ideas wherever it's most convenient for them. Either with employees or colleagues in the office, at home in the family, in cafes with friends. Anyone who is thinking and talking about our unity is already creating a different atmosphere in Israel.
