The Best Sugar Substitute You’ve Never Heard Of

It's allulose.

  • Unlike other substitutes, it’s actually a sugar — a mirror image of fructose
  • Looks/feels/tastes like sugar, about 70% as sweet (use 1/3 more)
  • Fully absorbed by intestines (no gut issues)
  • Excreted by kidneys, not metabolized = 95% fewer calories
  • Drags glucose with it(!) = 10% decrease in post-meal glucose

Animal studies suggest compared to fructose/glucose, allulose may:

  • Reduce abdominal fat
  • Decrease insulin resistance
  • Decrease fatty liver
  • Prevent or delay type 2 diabetes
