Our very own Natalie Procter from our Care team played in the Ladies Knock Out Cup held at Pontins, Prestatyn. Natalie played for the South Yorkshire Ladies team and they successfully made it through the group stages. We just want to say a huge congrats to Natalie and the team for getting as far as they did!

Proud of Barnsley

Last month the BEST team attended the Proud of Barnsley awards.

Our very own Elizabeth Harris was joined by Stephanie Peacock, Barnsley East MP to present the Special Recognition Award to Mick Wale.

Mick was given the grimmest diagnosis by medical experts almost two decades ago. They told him he faced spending the rest of his life in a wheelchair - and probably wouldn’t live much more than a decade. Almost 20 years on, he’s still here and, earlier this year celebrated his 60th birthday – a milestone that, in the darker moments, he must never have thought he’d live to see. For more than three decades, he has been at the centre of his community and has helped hundreds of youngsters, teaching them discipline, a healthy lifestyle and self-defence. A huge congratulations to Mick and all those who won and were nominated. This was a fantastic event to recognise those who deserve it the most.

I am training to be a yoga teacher

Over the years I have practised yoga on and off; I made a decision to train as a yoga teacher: I travelled to London from Yorkshire each month for a weekend of yoga teaching for one year. I?qualified as a yoga teacher?during lockdown.

Practicing yoga has helped me to remain?focused and fit. This summer I travelled to Crete to be taught yoga by Marios and it was amazing and would highly recommend it.
