The best resolution for 2024!


"Global revolution begins with a personal resolution!"


It's day 04 of your New Year resolution, how are you progressing with that?

To change the world we need to first change ourselves that is why we need these resolutions to become successful.

Every day we make decisions, small and big, easy and hard. Few decisions are genuinely hard to make, and when we make any decision, there is risk involved. The bigger our decision, it's likely to have bigger risk and greater rewards.


Making the Resolution is like making a Decision! But, the question is how to make the right decision. The answer lies in our lifestyle. That is why most New Year Resolutions revolve around bringing a change in our lifestyle rather than achieving a goal.


Our existence consists of three qualities:

Sattva: Goodness
Rajas: Passion
Tamas: Ignorance


A good lifestyle is one where we have an abundance of Sattva, some Rajas, and an absence or paucity of Tamas. These three qualities are related to our five senses. What we taste, see, hear, smell, and touch.

The control over our senses happens when we have control and balance over our diet, our visuals, our sound, substance, and bodily pleasure. We should strive to maximize our Sattva qualities, balance our Rajas qualities, and minimize our Tamas qualities.

If we don't have a controlled lifestyle it would bring difficulties in reaching our goals and oftentimes leave us with complaints, guilt, and dissatisfaction and we might find ourselves saying to our future self If I would have done this, I could have achieved that.


Now, How to control or balance what we taste, see, hear, smell, and touch to build a lifestyle that is best for our body, mind, and soul.


Take a decision or Make a Resolution!

We may choose to add more vegetarian/vegan options to our plate to make it more sustainable.
We may choose to reduce our social media or media intake.
We may choose not to use our mobile for at least one hour after we wake up and before we go to bed.
We may choose to replace/reduce our consumption of negative content and news with positive media or stories.
We may choose to take an alternative to deaddict ourselves from any substance use and start physical exercise/yoga/gym.
We may choose to control our desires for bodily pleasure by indulging ourselves in service/sewa.


There could be billions of resolutions, but there is one resolution that could benefit all the decisions we make and it is a tried, tested, and successfully demonstrated method to achieve our goals. Historically this has been and is followed by great personalities from all walks of life, be it industry leaders, political leaders, artists, sportsmen, academicians, and of course spiritual leaders.



The best resolution is to practice mindfulness through meditation for a couple of minutes every day!



Therefore, I am sharing my resolution publicly here with all of you. This public announcement of my resolution would make me accountable to you all.


My New Year resolution is "I'll become regular in my meditation". Let's join me in this amazing journey of doing meditation every day. In my next post, I'll be sharing a few steps on how to start your meditation practice as a beginner, stay tuned.
