Best Practice When Creating A Landing Page

A good first impression is everything. The same could be said for landing pages as they are a great way to get visitors to interact with your site. They are often used to share information with visitors such as upcoming projects, contact details, CTAs etc.

The key to a good landing page is that it should be informative and direct but still keep the right tone and in line with the company’s brand to convert visitors into customers. When creating landing pages for your company's website, it's important to focus on the design element as well as the content that is included. So, what makes a good landing page?

Landing pages provide important information for your audience along with a clear CTA and they are essential for reaching your business goals. Here's a breakdown of some best practices when creating your landing pages:

Focus on the structure: Structure is vital as not every visitor will scroll to the bottom of every page. Try to keep it as simple as possible and break down the copy into a couple of sections to make sure the visitor understands the message you're trying to convey.

Compelling headlines: The headline needs to be short and to the point encouraging the reader to continue reading and find out more. This should be the main point of focus on your landing page.

Keep it simple: Customise the page to make sure it doesn't include any navigations including menu or links back to the homepage. This will stop the visitor from getting distracted and makes sure that info is the single point of focus.

Keep it concise: Highlight the most important things you want to communicate with your landing page and avoid long explanations that are not needed on the page. The visitor should have a clear idea of what the message is.

Use graphics: To make the page stand out, you can use graphics such as company logos or images of people to show real people using your product/service. This also helps to build credibility.

Include a CTA: When customers visit your website you want them to take action and buy your product. It's important to add a CTA button on the landing page to lead the visitor smoothly to the next stage of the process. A good CTA should be clear on what the offer is and what action you want them to take. For example, a good CTA would be ‘Buy Now’ or ‘Sign Up for a Free Trial’ alongside a clear description of the offer.

Test the page: Once the page has been created, it's good practice to then test it to see how it looks and if it's easy to navigate. This will allow you to make any necessary changes before the page is live. It's also a good idea to get a second opinion to make sure you haven't missed anything important.
