At Best, My Life Is About To Take A Serious Turn For Worse, At Worst, I Want To Share Some Feelings On How This Country Has Changed In My Lifetime!

We used to see being an American Citizen as an honor that was worth the time, hard work, and effort that went with it to deserve the honor...
Today, more and more people feel entitled to it - without that time, hard work, effort and smarts that used to be the norm, feeling entitled to a living wage with nothing but a GED, by flipping burgers or making coffee - and stupid American businesses support that lazy and stupid choice by hiring totally uneducated and unqualified people that will take that same type of lazy short-cuts while working for them. When I was growing up, every job listing said, "College Degree or Military Service Required..." and you got one or the other before going to work at less than a living wage, to earn that living wage as you proved yourself. As an aside, my current life and death situation is due to this problem. Stupid, Lazy, Short-Cut grabbing people getting GEDs, then getting nonsensical certificates from Certificates For Sale organizations, then going on to get higher certificates and diplomas - including RNs and M.D.s, and the States supporting this, and healthcare professionals and facilities then hiring these truly unqualified people. And they wonder why they keep getting sued. I have now discovered, first-hand, in two different States that you are better off getting no treatment, than to be treated by anyone in those states. No treatment is better than bad treatment in many cases.

Bigger National Picture: I am both a Constitutionalist, and huge supporter of legal immigration. Millions have done that over my lifetime, and are "honored" to have done it the legal way. Our forefathers had no way to foresee international travel taking minutes or hours, so they had no way to foresee the ease of birthright anchor babies, and masses of people feeling entitled to cross our borders illegally, expecting the rights and protections they get when they get here. If they had that foreseeability then, I can assure you that they would not have made citizenship so simple, and protections for those that choose these illegal shortcuts possible. THAT is why they gave us the power to amend their great writings, to evolve with times, advances, and changes that they had no way to foresee 250-years ago.
Likewise as far as foreseeability, as they wrote our Constitution a Top Military Marksman could load their rifle, aim, fire, hit their target, reload, aim, fire, hit their target ONCE in one minute. Today, even with non-automatic weapons, and expert can do 100-times that, and with an automatic, even a novice much more than that. Again, our forefathers had no way to see such advancements 250-years ago. And anyone who claims that it is their Constitutional Right to have such weapons simply does not understand The Constitution, its writers' intent, or why they gave us the right to amend their great writings.
Fortunately, at best, I'll be gone before this country fails under the weight of all these lazy, stupid, short-cut grabbing, entitled people. But it is still sad to see it coming in the near future for those still here when we go down the toilet.

6 个月I have read your insight on today's generations. I must say I agree with just about everything you have said. However I see things at the present time being far worse than you do. Perhaps you do to and don't want to upset people I don't know.
