Shorten Your Sales Cycle With Video

Introduce prospects to your world before you meet

How often have you repeated the same sales script during a first phone call with a prospect? That repetition gets tired and may eventually sound tired.

I’ve often wondered why businesses of all sizes don’t use video, email, or even PDFs to share basic concepts shared in initial sales calls with a simple self-guided course. (Highlight and choose share to tweet.)

Make your first call more meaningful by making a little basic education available.

Videos are so easy and inexpensive to create today. To me, it’s a wonderful opportunity to intrigue audiences, not only generating inbound traffic, but also, qualified prospects.

Even a short email series can convey introductory concepts, speeding up the customer journey to know, like, and trust you.

??”Every year, identify one new way to make money.” That’s one great takeaway from email consultant Dan Oshinsky ’s “25 Rules for Running a Great Newsletter ” via newsletter and business coach Josh Spector . Especially in light of Google’s deprecation project regarding third party tracking cookies, it’s more important than ever to take Dan’s advice to “start collecting more than an email address.”

Dan also stresses the need to give value in return, not only for information you want to collect, but also when asking for a reply to an emailing. Asking for a reply let’s your email providers take note of the engagement of your audience. Mailbox services track response activity which affects message deliverability.

You don’t want to look like a spammer.

I want to share one more point I highlighted: “Win back your inactive readers, or let them go.” There is an expense, however small, to carrying a list of old email addresses of uninterested subscribers. As what your readers care about, or what you care about, changes, interest lags.

Another great episode, Jan! You save us all so much time by hightlighting the “best” of so many things. Did you generate the nifty “Share. This newsletter” button or did LinkedIn do that?
