My Coolest Job So Far, Literally! ????
Imagine you have a whole ski area to yourselves - sounds like a dream, doesn't it? Well, this dream became reality for me. But of course I wasn't there (just) for pleasure ????.
My assignment? To capture audio recordings of Olympic skiers for a VR project. While everyone else was pushing their limits on the slopes, I was additionally pushed to my limits "riding" with my equipment to capture the 360 sounds ????.
Apart from my "modest" skiing skills (at least I had cool green goggles that offered zero protection from the icy cold wind - you can get a picture of it here ), the whole thing was quite a challenge?????.?

Thanks to Apple's 3D Audio technology, this is now possible - and the implementation? I find it absolutely user-friendly and you immediately understand which mode you are in ????.
Here are the 5 options:
1?? Classic stereo: Let's start with the basic mode. Here we experience the song in good old stereo - nothing new so far.
2?? Stereo to 3D: If we switch on 3D, a new dimension of spatiality is created. The song sounds wider, more spacious and almost makes us forget the headphones.
3?? Stereo to 3D with head tracking: Now it gets interesting. By adding head tracking, it feels as if we are sitting in a studio and it reproduces the natural listening experience we have with two hi-fi speakers - but on headphones.
