The best kind of Thanksgiving
There’s a lot to look forward to at Thanksgiving: good food, catching up with others, and watching the parade or the game. But this year, I’m most excited about having my whole family in Iowa for the holidays.
We’re excited about being part of the community and continuing to build our family traditions together in Iowa. For us, Iowa isn’t just another place in which to live; it’s now part of who we are.
I’m especially proud to work with more than 15,000 Iowans who care so much about helping other Iowans. At University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, we’re seeing more patients now than we have ever seen in the history of the organization. With patients being transferred here from all 99 counties in Iowa, we understand the unique health care needs of this state and are committed to continued growth.
During this time of thanksgiving, I’d like to personally thank our patients, our faculty and staff, our partners, and this community for the trust they place in us every day.
To patients: Thank you for trusting us with your care. The reason we’re focused on excellence in every aspect of what we do is because of you. We’re passionate about serving you today and continuing to find better ways to do so tomorrow.
To faculty and staff: I can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our patients, our students and to one another during Thanksgiving and every week throughout the year. Your dedication is not only appreciated, but also an inspiration for others.
To partners: We feel privileged to have a role in fostering a system of care in Iowa. We value our partnerships and look forward to continuing to serve our state together.
To our communities: We are honored to be part of your community. Thank you for your support to help improve the lives of so many.
For me, the best kind of Thanksgiving is seeing the commitment and collaboration that leads to more amazing care for Iowans. We could not do what we do without everyone working together.
Happy Thanksgiving!
