Best Growth Hints for Insurance Professionals

Throughout my career in the insurance sector, i found out there are 5 basic immortal rules to persevere and grow in the insurance sector:

Rule 1: Be Honest in every single statement you share. It may seem too perfectionist, but it is not. Being honest will keep you out of trouble. It is far better to loose a prospect than to lose a client. Be very honest while pitching your services, never talk down the competition, provide your prospect with hard facts about why you're better than your competition and make sure the proposal form is completely accurate. When big claims hit, you better be prepared in the most transparent and ethical way to serve your client at his or her pleasure.

Rule 2: Choose very wisely and carefully your insurance supplier. This is a very delicate rule. Audit the insurance company you wish to represent as if you are to invest in that company. Know the numbers, the board background and philosophy, the team expertise and professionalism, the culture. Examine the insurance company inside out. Be diligent in your pursuit, choosing your insurance supplier is a very critical process.

Rule 3: Continuous Specialized Knowledge. You have to commit to a lifetime of learning, continuously making sure your expertise is much more elaborated in depth from your competitors. Specialized knowledge will give you a tremendous edge in the industry.

Rule 4: Lead a life of Sports and Fitness. Insurance development is a very hard job, exhausting and requires tremendous efforts of emotional intelligence. Working out and staying fit will shape up your character and self esteem. Your endurance will sharpen and your mental toughness will flourish. It is recommended not less than 6 hours per week.

Rule 5: Focus on Activity and never on outcome. Never fall in the trap of focusing and measuring your target performance. Focus only on your activity. Number of meetings, number of calls, number of proposals, number of risk assessment studies, number of networking events. Never ever focus on the outcome, enjoy the movement. Have a closed mind against any factor forcing you to focus on your targets. Be steadfast in enjoying your process.
