The Best Gift an Entrepreneur Can Give Themselves.*

"Slow is Smooth. Smooth is Fast" US Navy Seals

An incredible social experiment took place on a cold January morning in a Washington DC metro station.

A busker played his violin to commuters on their way to work. Few paid him any attention and after an hour, he had collected a few dollars. The musician was Joshua Bell, the world's greatest violinist who'd been playing a Bach concerto on a violin worth $3.5m.

And almost no one stopped

Busy Being Busy

If we don't take a few seconds to slow down and listen to the planet's finest musician playing incredibly beautiful music, what else are we missing?

In the 17th century, Blaise Pascal wrote,?“All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.” In the 21st century, 'always-on' hustle bro culture this has never seemed more apt.

Ironically, if you choose to give yourself the gift of time, you'll become more productive, not less.

Sacred Hours

In his book, EOS Life, author Gino Wickman explains the essential need for every business owner to take a?'clarity break'.

Whether it's half an hour alone in a coffee shop each morning or 2 hours on a Friday, you need to remove yourself from the 'day to day' and elevate your thinking.

Get Outside

Make walking part of your daily routine.

Successful entrepreneurs from Steve Jobs to Jack Dorsey have talked about the importance of walking outside. It increases blood flow to the brain and enhances the cognitive process.

Just move.

No phone zone

You can't ask an alcoholic to sit in a bar and not touch the booze.

Our phones have been designed to distract us and no matter how hard we try, the siren call of the next dopamine hit will always be hard to resist.

Grab a notebook and a pen if you like but leave the tech behind during your?precious time.

“A busy calendar and a busy mind will destroy your ability to create anything great." Naval
