Best Gadgets I Tested in 2024 #1: Apple Vision Pro
They say you must see it to believe it. True, but in this case, you must experience it to believe it. The era of spatial computing is here, thanks to the Apple Vision Pro (AVP) - a groundbreaking mixed-reality headset marking a significant leap in the XR industry.?
Going beyond traditional Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), the AVP leverages spatial computing to enable users to interact with objects in the surroundings while experiencing immersive digital content in a natural, intuitive and interactive way. While the launch video was impressive, showcasing its capabilities, it was still hard to imagine if it would offer the same or better real-life experience.
From watching Sci-Fi movies like Ready Player One and having faith in the future of this tech to trying the AVP for a few weeks now, things seem more convincing now. The AVP takes the first spot in the best gadgets I used in 2024, and wanted to highlight some experiences such as Explore POV showcasing some breathtaking 180-degree 3D immersive video content – flying over mountains, clouds, volcanos and exploring places across the globe. ?
There are apps like JigSpace, letting you interact with 3D models, such as a Jet Plane’s engine, and human heart, mark and annotate things in the spatial environment and much more.
And then there are apps like Encounter Dinosaur, again offering an immersive 3D experience of getting up face-to-face with the Dinosaur, and much more.
