The Best Gadgets from CES 2025

CES 2025 has once again brought together the world's leading tech innovators, unveiling groundbreaking products and concepts that redefine the boundaries of technology.

From revolutionary smart glasses and rollable laptops to AI-integrated TVs and lightning-fast phone chargers, the show has been a showcase of futuristic ideas that are set to shape the way we live, work, and play. Companies like Samsung, TCL, LG, and Lenovo have introduced innovations that are not only impressive but also practical, offering glimpses of how emerging technologies will impact everyday life.

Here's my list of the most exciting tech that I saw in action this week.

Fade Out, a short film made with Google’s Veo 2

One of the most un-AI, AI projects that I've seen is Fade Out, a short film crafted by Jason Zada and his team with Google’s Veo 2, exploring the twilight years of an aging rock star. This video pushes the boundaries of text-to-video storytelling, blending character consistency with a heartfelt narrative about the closing chapter of an artist's journey. To create something so realistic looking, every detail matters—camera movements, lighting, textures—to evoke the feeling of a true film.

An interesting quote Jason shared was, "This is the Worst the tech will ever look. It will only get better from here," which is actually amazing and scary to think.

Paper-Powered Progress: The Battery That Biodegrades

Imagine a battery made of paper—yes, actual cellulose. Singaporean startup Flint has created a flexible, rechargeable battery that not only powers your devices but also biodegrades in six weeks once discarded. Winner of the 2025 CES Sustainability Award, these eco-friendly batteries promise a greener future for our gadget-driven lives.

Honda Resurrects Asimo for Its Electric Vehicle Revolution

Honda’s EV prototypes are taking the stage with the Honda 0 Series, set to launch in 2026. Featuring sleek designs reminiscent of European sports cars and rugged SUVs, these vehicles are powered by Asimo OS, a nod to Honda’s legendary humanoid robot. It’s innovation with a touch of nostalgia.

Step Into Recovery: Nike + Hyperice Performance Boosters

Forget speed—these boots are built for recovery. The Nike + Hyperice recovery shoes combine heat and compression to help athletes bounce back after workouts. Used by Olympians in Paris, these futuristic boots are a game-changer for both performance and rest.

Swap Your iPhone Battery in 2 Seconds Flat

Charging your phone is so last year. The Swippitt system lets you swap out a dead iPhone battery in seconds with a special case and hub. Designed for speed and convenience, this $700 solution is perfect for families and businesses always on the move.

Smart Glasses That Don’t Scream “Tech”

Finally, smart glasses you’d actually want to wear. The Halliday XR combines sleek design with a small AR screen for at-a-glance info. Controlled by a subtle companion ring, they bridge the gap between function and fashion without overwhelming your field of view.

Taste Without Sodium: The Electric Salt Spoon

The future of flavor is here. The Kirin Electric Salt Spoon uses gentle electrical stimulation to mimic saltiness without adding sodium to your meal. Perfect for health-conscious foodies, it delivers the salty taste you crave without the health risks.

Let’s Get Weird: The Coolest and Quirkiest Robots at CES

From adorable companions to downright bizarre creations, CES 2025 showcased an eclectic mix of robots that captured our imaginations. Whether it’s a robotic pet that tugs at your heartstrings or a tech marvel that leaves you scratching your head, these bots prove that the future is as quirky as it is innovative.

Modular Flying Car: The Future of Transportation

Xpeng Aero HT, the aerospace arm of Chinese EV startup Xpeng, has unveiled its Land Aircraft Carrier at CES 2025—a hybrid modular flying car that combines an electric minivan with a foldable eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) vehicle. With 3,000 pre-orders and a production launch set for 2026, this vehicle can seamlessly transition from ground to air, boasting a range of over 621 miles and autonomous flight capabilities. But is it more like a mini helicopter or a large drone? Either way, Xpeng's ambitious plans could reshape the future of transportation.

America CAN'T Compete with China's NEW High-Speed Future!

China is rapidly outpacing the U.S. with its impressive infrastructure advancements, from groundbreaking metro systems like Shenzhen's 300-mile network to futuristic innovations like food-delivering drones. With unmatched speed and scale, China’s high-speed rail, state-of-the-art airports, and towering bridges are setting a global standard that the U.S. is struggling to match. So this wasn’t at CES, but I thought this tech was pretty insane, so I had to include.

Toshiba Unveils REGZA Intelligence at CES 2025: A Leap Forward in Smart TV Technology

Toshiba introduced REGZA Intelligence, an advanced AI-driven platform designed to revolutionize the television experience. This cutting-edge innovation brings transformative enhancements to picture quality, audio performance, and user interaction, solidifying Toshiba’s position at the forefront of display and smart TV technology.

CES spans an immense floor space, with over 4,500 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations. The scale of this event is truly staggering. After walking over 56K steps this week, I only managed to experience a fraction of what’s on display. I know I didn't get to see everything, so feel free to share any standout discoveries in the comments below.
