Best focus for diversity programmes
Insightful HBR article outlining why diversity policies fail, and why the focus should rather be on mentoring schemes, programmes that promote contact between differing groups within an organisation (and thus challenging common stereotypes about a group), and creating "social accountability" for teams who need to have fostered in them a desire to increase diversity. Diversity programmes do provide a legal defence to a discrimination complaint, but don't necessarily foster an increase in workforce diversity and may even lead to increased victimisation. https://hbr.org/2016/07/why-diversity-programs-fail
