I wrote last week about the 93 year old bloke was as fit as a 40 year old, so today I’ll stick with that theme.
With the focus this time being what are the best exercises to slow down muscle ageing?
If you want a simple answer, any exercise that you do is going to be the best exercises.
Cause if you compare it to doing nothing, it’s obvious what’s always going to win.
But for the case today, I’ll borrow from?an article ?I read last week that mentioned a few bodyweight exercises.
The ones mentioned were push ups, squats, pull ups, recline rows, lunges, hover hold and finishing off with some high intensity cardio intervals (they mentioned burpees – but you probably know my thoughts on them – star jumps or mountain climbers set to 20-30 secs on with 10-15 secs rest).
All in all that’s a pretty good list that covers every muscle group a few times over.
The moral of the story today, no matter if you use these exercises mentioned, or any other that you’d prefer, is to pick exercises that use more than one muscle at once for the majority of what you do – especially if you only have a limited amount of time to exercise.
But remember, anything is better than nothing.
Cheers,
Daniel
