You could do sit ups ALL day
but no exercise is gonna help you cut that fat around your stomach
Losing belly fat just doesn't work in that fashion

It all boils down to being in a calorie deficit for a sustained period and being consistent with that
There is a difference between a guy who trains hard for 2 weeks and then starts quitting vs a guy who just makes a slow and steady progress for 3 months
You need to get it right at least 70-80% of the time, for 12-16 weeks to even have a chance of seeing abs
Genetics make it harder, and you cannot target fat loss
If you are abs are a stubborn area - you have to keep burning fat until you see your abs
