How to Use Breaker Tools in Correct Ways?

Some operators compain about the quality of breaker chisels,yet according to our past experiences, most damages are caused by improper operations, thus it is vital to train the operators to work in the correct ways so as to ensure the largest output and lowest downtime with good chisels. Here are tips for you

1. Lubricating. Before operating the excavator, the breaker tools should be lubricated with lubricating grease properly and once very two hours’?working. When the lubricating grease is applied the breaker tool should be pressed tight as shown below:

2. Vertical striking.While working, the chisel should be vertical with the working surface so as to reduce its physical wear?and extend its lifetime.

3.?Excessive wear of the inner and outer bushings will create an excessive gap between the bushing and the chisel. When the gap exceeds 8mm, the inner and outer bushings will lose its function of guiding the chisel. At the same time, deflection will cause damage to the?chisel?and related spare parts. Regular inspection of chisels and other spare parts shall be carried out and?replace the old ones in time .

4. No more than 20 seconds. Constant striking of breaker tools should not exceed 20 seconds at the same spot, or else it may lead to dramatic temperature increasing at the tool tips so as to lower its hardness and cause curled edges.(as the pics are shown below)

5. Piece by piece. When breaking the large stones, it seems that it will be faster to strike its center, on the contrary, it is inefficient. The large stones should be penetrated piece by piece.

6. When the excavator moves, the breaker rods should not be used as a lever, or else it may cause damages on rods,excavator bottom and other joints.

7. It is not allowed to use the breaker tools as a crowbar. When the tool bears excessive bending force, it may?break at the easy breaking point.

8.It should not be used as a sledgehammer by smashing down before starting the machine.

9. It is not allowed to carry heavy objects with breaker tools in case that it will be broken.
