The one you can stick to!
That's right. There is no such thing as a 'best diet'. This may come as a surprise to some, but it's just the truth.
I have no specific plan to sell you, so the information is coming from someone who has years of experience working with clients and studying the research who wants to pass on honest info that so many get confused by.
There's so much poor information and fear mongering around certain food types being bad for you (such as no carbs after 6 - which is utter bullshit)
The 1 and only thing to consider when trying to lose body fat or build muscle is that you need consistency.
- If you don't like eating breakfast - No problem, skip it and have some food later
- Want to include some chocolate in your plan? - That's perfectly fine, where can we slot it in?
- Want a meal out on a Saturday with a few drinks? - Sounds good, let's pull some calories form somewhere else
You can literally eat what you want (within reason) and still get results if you hit some basic fundamentals
These fundamentals in my opinion are
- Including 1 source of protein at each meal and aiming for 0.7-1.2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight
- Aim for 70-80% of your diet from whole, natural healthy foods
- Include 5-10 sources of fruit and veg each day
- Use a tracking app such as myftinesspal to hold yourself accountable
This does not mean repeating chicken, rice and broccoli every day. GET CREATIVE!
Try some different protein and carbohydrate sources out! Mix up the fruit and veg options and please for the love of god season your food!
It has to be enjoyable and sustainable.
That's the approach I like to take and have found a version of it works for everyone
Simplify things a little . It's so much easier than you think
