Best demonstrative ever??

Its plain that some in the audience had seen this before, but it was new to me at CanArbWeek. It shows Napoleon's march on Moscow - and the retreat. The brown line is the invasion and is both a map and its width shows the number of troops. The black line is the retreat on the same basis. The graph at the foot shows temperature during the retreat.
Simple and effective and it has stood the test of over 200 years. It remains quite brilliant.
The French invasion of Russia was initiated by Napoleon with the aim of compelling Russia to comply with the continental blockade of the UK. In a span of fewer than six months, the campaign exacted a staggering toll, claiming the lives of nearly a million soldiers and civilians.
