The best country to live in

The best country to live in

"The best place to live in is the place of your birth."

For many people, the place where they want to live and live has significant values.

It was interesting to discuss with someone how they value and view the place of their existence. For example, the person said, "I cannot trust to send my daughter alone without having to fear her safety."

And the person continued to complain about Government, corruption, poor infrastructure, pollution, traffic, etc.

However, I said, "Safety is only a relative term because, in Singapore, I witnessed a 13-year-old girl being molested in an MRT right in front of everyone in the peak hours." Yet, no one did anything about it.?

The individual asked me the usual question, "why did you move back to India after living in Singapore for so many years? How are you coping up with the change?

I explained to the individual that the grass is always greener on the other side. Therefore, people are a hypocrite when they want to give up their roots.

For me, there is no other place better than my beloved country, India, in the entire globe.

I started sharing the facts about India:

  1. India is a democratic country where you can voice your opinions.
  2. India is a place for seekers.
  3. It is a land of Spirituality. One comes here as a pilgrim.?
  4. The fantastic sight of Rangoli artwork outside temples and houses, especially on festivals and special occasions, is very Indian and highly divine.
  5. India is a paradise for food lovers. There is always unity in diversity.?
  6. India offers amazing sights everywhere, a delight of the photographer.
  7. It is the land of mother of all teas, especially the 'Masala Chai,' which is available at every nook and corner.
  8. Saree makes every woman 'beautiful.' Bindis on the foreheads, flowers in the hair and henna on palms - a land of nonconformist fashion.
  9. India celebrates more than forty festivals a year that are super colourful, rich in culture and tradition and completely psychedelic.
  10. In India, people will seldom face a language barrier. We have 22 official languages and 1652 unofficial languages because 'English unifies them all.?
  11. India is a paradise for shopaholics with endless possibilities for all with its rich art and culture.
  12. Mangoes - king of fruits and a special gift of God. Taste one in India, and you will not like them anywhere else.?
  13. India is a sensory overload - our senses of seeing, hearing, smelling, touching gets bombarded with stimulation.
  14. Indian traffic will make you an expert driver. I am living proof of how I can manoeuvre my car through any winding or narrow lane full of different kinds of vehicles, people, animals, potholes and whatnot.?
  15. The traffic and long queues teach us to have patience in life. Following rules, we Indians don't, especially when in India. So why not start now!?! If you can abide by the rules and regulations abroad, you should follow them in India too.
  16. And the list is endless.

Besides, living in India will test your limits in every way and make you tough and capable of fighting and facing life.

Atithi Devo bhava, which means Guests are God. Be it visiting someone's home or entering a restaurant after it is shut down; people welcome you with a smile. They will not shoo you off or leave you hungry.

During Festivals, it seems like the whole of India is celebrating it together; there are so many bright colours, sweets, and delicious delicacies, something for everyone. We eat a lot of sweets, and that makes us very sweet too.?

'Jugaad,' a word that is exclusive to India. It means that nothing is impossible in India. We will always find an innovative fix or life hack recognized globally as an acceptable form of frugal engineering.

India is an ever-growing innovation hub and leader in the fintech world. India is becoming the world's fastest-growing start-up ecosystem, with over 70 unicorns ranking third after the US and China.?

Know that everything has its pros and cons. Let us always look at the upside of life and take only the good that life offers.

I have always believed I am a global citizen because you need to learn from the best of everything which exists in this world.?

Hence, it hurts me to experience how our own people talk bad about our roots. Therefore it is my goal to show the world the real India that I love the most.

"The end of all our exploration will be to arrive where we began - that is our roots."
