Does this advice suck the life out of you?
I get it! The gravity and the magnitude of the statement took my breath away when I received it years ago during the early stages of building my coaching business.
The advice was both sobering and overwhelming.
"Learn how to run a business!" Where? Who'd teach me? I've already "started" my business; did I need to start over?
The SCARY thing is, as business owners, most of us don't open our doors with the knowledge and wisdom of sound business principles, proven marketing concepts, or mindest tools to learn how to think-feel-communicate-act like a business owner...
...Instead, we start a "technical" business based on our expertise as a doctor, coach, lawyer, accountant, artist, teacher, product producer...
Unfortunately, none of what's required to run a successful business has ANYTHING to do with our technical expertise.
Starting a business is ALL ABOUT building systems, processes, a success mindset, business models, licensing, insurance, sales, marketing, strategic thinking, managing money, and so much more.
Running your business without actually knowing how to run a business is a liability, and the stress of running an unstable business is heartbreaking.
