The Best of Both Worlds: Embracing Humanity and Next-gen Technology

Embracing humanity and next-gen technology is not an either-or proposition; rather, it is a call for synergy between our unique abilities and AI's analytical capabilities.

In this wild era of crazy tech advancements, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities has undoubtedly become the trending topic of the year so far.

If in the past six months, you have not explored Chat-GPT or used any AI photo editing tools to generate uber-cool DPs for your social media, then my guess is that you must have been living on a deserted island like Tom Hanks in 'Cast Away' or been busy fighting a tiger on a boat in the middle of nowhere like in Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pi’.

Okay, enough with my movie references, but I’m sure you get my point here:

AI is the talk of the town. People are constantly talking about it. They are worried about their jobs and whether AI is out to get us. They fear being replaced by robots and ‘some’ are starting to believe that the whole "AI takes over the world" sentiment as glorified in pop culture and sci-fi films ought to be true.

Future of Jobs Report 2020, World Economic Forum.

Did you know that by 2025, the World Economic Forum estimates that about 97 million new jobs will be created thanks to the AI boom? So, there's actually a bright side to all this AI hype!

As Andrew Ng, a prominent figure in the AI world, once said, "AI is the new electricity. Just as electricity transformed almost everything 100 years ago, AI will have a similar impact." It's about embracing the opportunities and riding this AI wave.

The Human Superpower: Upskilling to Evolve with AI

The current AI trend is to combine machines and people to enhance cognitive productivity. Reports indicate that in 2023, 40% of infrastructure and operations teams will start using automation with AI to achieve increased IT productivity. This would mean that half of the complex work will be done by machines.

With AI bound to evolve further in the coming days, it's important for us to level up our skills and embrace the tech landscape. According to?Gartner, by 2022, one in five workers engaged in mostly non-routine tasks will rely on AI to do their jobs. This means that individuals who are able to adapt and learn these new skills will be in high demand.

Instead of freaking out, we should see AI as a chance to grow.

By getting better at things AI isn't great at, like emotional intelligence and complex decision-making, we can stand out in this AI-dominated world. What makes us truly special is our imagination and problem-solving abilities. We can think critically and come up with mind-blowing ideas that AI can't even dream of.

Sure, AI is a whiz at crunching numbers and finding patterns, but it can't beat our intuition and creativity. We can actually use AI as our sidekick, tapping into its analytical powers to enhance our own creative thinking.

The Era of the AI: Are they your friend or a foe?

Rather than looking at it from a hero (human) VS villain (AI) narrative, I would rather suggest that we look at co-existing, standing side-by-side instead of being at loggerheads with AI.

When we team up with AI, incredible things happen.

The Harvard Business Review points out that organizations that blend AI with human expertise are 33% more likely to achieve business outcomes. I see this as a win-win situation. AI can handle boring tasks, analyze data, and give us awesome insights. This means we can focus on the stuff that requires our human touch—judgment, empathy, and good old-fashioned creativity.

We don't have to choose between humanity and technology. It's all about working together, combining our unique powers with AI's mad skills.

As the legendary Thomas Edison once said, "The value of an idea lies in the use of it." By tapping into our creativity, upskilling like pros, collaborating with AI, and embracing learning for life, I am confident that we will be able to navigate the AI-driven future like champions.

Let's look at AI as a motivator who is here to unlock the best versions of ourselves. Together, we'll create a world where humanity and tech can dance in perfect harmony. Ready to unlock your superpowers? Let's do this! - Ratnaa

The collaboration between humans and AI can be fostered by promoting AI literacy and inclusivity. It is crucial to ensure that AI systems are designed to enhance human capabilities rather than supplant them. https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/pathways-possibility-embracing-ethical-innovation-human-jeevendran
