To build and sustain a successful business, collaboratively creating a strong strategy plan is advised.?More importantly, collaboratively creating an accountability plan to drive implementation and execution of the enterprises’ desired deliverables is really important.?Combining the two is the best of both.?
Frankly a half-baked strategy assertively executed is grandly more impactful than a wonderfully designed strategic structure with little follow-through.?
How then to build the actions that accomplish strategic objectives and ultimately build desired outcomes.
Build a Strategy and Share It – I know, common sense can be a bit uncommon.?The first step to climb the metaphorical mountain of success is to create the plans for the company to follow. ?If you don’t know where you want to go, you are pretty much guaranteed to get there.?The question is, is that where you want to be?
With the plan in place, it must be communicated with the team.?All parties must be clear on their roles, the outcomes desired and the timelines for getting there.
Start Walking – There is little point in stating a goal and then staring at the finish line miles away without taking a step.?Put one foot in front of the other and get after it.?A small action today builds the momentum for significant progress in time.?Keep moving forward.
Measure Milestones – Keep tabs on where you want to be when.?The strategy plan should have mapped the desired progress individuals, departments and the company intend to achieve.?With ongoing updates and discussions, progress can be measured and appropriate adaptations to the plan can be made.?
Celebrate Success Along the Way – Too often stretch goals are set and when small setbacks occur, people lose their inspiration and intent to continue forward.?By acknowledging and reinforcing positive behavior, confidence can be built and competence will naturally follow.?
