I am always being asked for book recommendations on Syria, so I have compiled a list, its far from the most comprehensive list but is I think I good introduction, including travel, political comment and fiction.
The crisis in Syria is one that has had global implications and media headlines are all that many ever encounter and there is so much more to Syria and Syrians than the over-simplified typical Middle Eastern turmoil the headlines imply.
