Best and Better: A Learning Loop for Leaders

Best and Better: A Learning Loop for Leaders

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”?
- Victor Frankl, A Man’s Search for Meaning

How often do you pay attention to your thinking?? ? Your choices?? Your actions (or reactions)?? ? I have said it before - and here it is again - there is power in the pause.? ? It is in this space where we become more responsive vs. reactive; more creative vs. critical; more clear vs. confused. ? It is also a sign of well-developed emotional and relational intelligence.

I believe there are two simple questions that can help us create the SPACE to bring our best thinking and self to any situation:???

  • What is BEST now?
  • What is BETTER?

A Learning Loop to create Better every day

I dare you to try this out this week - show up and bring your best thinking with what information you have, know, or can find. Bring the best energy you have today to the people and relationships you support and lead. Decide to act - do something. Learn - look up and around. See the ripple effect. Reflect - what worked and was amazing? What might better look, sound or feel like??

Becoming an emotionally intelligent leader takes practice.? Expanding our perspective and staying present in the challenges, relationships, and opportunities is repeating small things often. The above two questions might be your way of taking a breath and seeing things more clearly -? NOW and NEXT.

Lead on,

Judy
